What kind of role playing game is the USS Andronicus?

Text Based

The USS Andronicus is a text based RPG. This means that instead of meeting together, dressing up, and physically “becoming” our characters, we write as our characters to create a long, interactive, and continuous novel-like story. You can see examples of this writing in the Collaborative Writing section. Usually players write from the third-person perspective, but sometimes first-person works well too. Each player writes from the perspective and for the interests of his own character(s) to further both the plot and the development of his own character.

Play-by-Forum

The USS Andronicus is also a play-by-forum RPG. This means that a forum of message boards hosts all the text—since it is also a text based game—and allows for great organization and ease of use. You can access the USS Andronicus forum to see exactly how this works.
